Phillip Johnston

Project: Detecting invisible brain injury from repeated head impacts in youth with generative neurophysiological modelling and machine learning

Bio: Phil is a postdoctoral fellow at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto. He uses electrophysiology (M/EEG), computational modelling and bioinformatics to understand how the brain changes after injury, including concussion and stroke, with the goal of developing more clinically-useful biomarkers. Beyond that, he has broad training in neural and cognitive sciences, and is interested in the many applications of electrophysiology and modelling in these fields.
