Background¶
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Sleep and Brain Health Lab at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre, Toronto. My research focuses on identifying brain cell-type proportion changes associated with sleep fragmentation and understanding their relationship with brain structure and dementia. I completed my doctoral training with Avraham Samson at the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine, Bar Ilan University, where I applied computational docking and molecular dynamics simulations to identify Arginase type 1 and 2 inhibitors with potential therapeutic relevance for Alzheimer’s disease.
Project¶
My CNS project “Unravelling the role of sleep-related cortical cell types subpopulations in sleep, dementia-related brain changes, and dementia in aging” aims to understand the molecular and cellular-level changes in the brain underlying the bidirectional relationship between sleep and dementia and to disentangle the causal links between them.
