This book documents which datasets exist. It does not yet document how to get into them, and that access process is usually the longest-lead item in a new project.
Open data is rarely open in the unconditional sense. Most of the datasets listed here sit somewhere on a spectrum from “download it now” to “submit a proposal, sign a Data Use Agreement, and wait.” Some require REB approval at your institution even for secondary analysis; some require your supervisor as a named applicant; some require a specific compute environment.
